Vocal Masterclass for Drama Scholarships and Enrichment Students 

Last week, students from our Drama scholarship and enrichment programme attended and took part in a Vocal Masterclass, under the excellent guidance of Mrs Lockwood.  Year 11’s Eve who took part reports on the masterclass.

I attended such a fun and useful Vocal Masterclass last Wednesday, led by Head of LAMDA, Mrs Lockwood, as a part of Drama Enrichment.  

I was opened up to letting go and really becoming one with the words from some incredible plays, many written by the amazing William Shakespeare.  

We focused on how to extract and then communicate key words and phrases, using teamwork and different techniques to do so.  I especially enjoyed the duo work with my partner, using physical movements to emphasise key words being said and I am excited to apply these methods when devising theatre in the future.  

These enrichment opportunities are so valuable for theatre makers and aspiring actors as they really teach you how to explore, take risks, and become one with the characters.  I feel very grateful to have been given the opportunity to be part of the programme.
