Head Chef
Between £26,000 and £29,000 depending on experience* 40 hours per week plus 4 additional hours to be worked flexibly per week, 52 weeks per year.

We are looking for a passionate and driven Head Chef to join our team in this exciting role. You will need to have a strong culinary background and be highly motivated to provide the best possible fresh, local food, prepared from scratch to pupils, school staff and guests.

Working alongside the Chef team and under the direction of the Executive Chef, you will be preparing, organising and portioning the food service across The Seckford Foundation, whilst meeting the ‘customer’ expectations, food and hygiene standards and meeting financial targets.

PE and Games IPGCE Student Teacher
£18,000 – £20,000 per annum Fixed one-year contract

We are looking to appoint an IPGCE student who wants to do an IPGCE in PE/Games (rugby specialist) to join our excellent, highly successful PE department. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate who can provide the best possible teaching for our students whilst at the same time training and gaining a qualification on the job.

Woodbridge School is one of the top academic schools in Suffolk, located in a beautiful part of the county, yet only one hour and 20 minutes from London.
You will be expected to:
• Prepare and deliver challenging and stimulating lessons with due regard to pupils’ individual needs across the Senior School, age range 11 to 18, with support of a mentor.
• Set high standards and encourage all pupils to achieve their full potential
• Show a genuine interest in PE and Games and demonstrate excellent communication skills
• Assist with enrichment activities
• Apply to and do your IPGCE through the University of Buckingham (requirement)

Physics Lab Technician
30 hours per week, term time plus 1 week (35 weeks in total) £19,782 FTE (£12,200 pa actual salary)

We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Physics Laboratory Technician to join our friendly and successful Science department on a part time/term time ‘plus’ basis, for 30 hours per week worked over 5 days. The role will involve preparing and maintaining resources for teaching staff, as well as providing assistance and advice to teachers and pupils as required.

As well as having a science background, ideally with some experience of providing technical support in Physics, you will also need to be a strong team player with a flexible and collaborative approach, working closely with
your technician colleagues to ensure efficient support is in place across the wider science department. An awareness of CLEAPSS and Health and Safety Guidelines is desirable. We have a strong and dedicated staff
body and excellent facilities, and you would be joining a warm and friendly working environment.

Multi-Site Chef
Circa £23,000 depending on experience. Full-time, full-year.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Chef to join our busy Catering team, covering our Senior School, Prep School and our Care home, preparing and cooking fresh produce.

You will have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar position or demonstrable experience in this area, and ideally have a level 2 in food production and catering, and a level 2 food hygiene certificate.
You will be required to provide varied catering offers ranging from daily school lunches to high end hospitality and therefore a solid range of cookery and organisational skills will be required.

The hours for this role are predominantly days but we require flexibility to work one weekend in four and occasional evening hospitality work to cover events as well as cover for sickness and holidays.

Minibus Drivers
Salary: £17,134 full time equivalent (actual dependent on exact hours worked) £9.88 per hour. 20 -25 hours per week dependent on route, term time only (34 weeks per year annum)

We require an enthusiastic and friendly Minibus Driver to provide an early morning and late afternoon transport service to our pupils, as well as ensuring that the appropriate checks are carried out on the minibus prior to driving. You will be joining an already established, friendly and supportive team. There may also be the opportunity for additional hours.
There may be opportunities for further hours during the school day to cover student trips etc.

You will:
• Possess a category D, D1 licence or possess a PSV/CPC;
• Be able to demonstrate that you are a reliable, safe driver with a clean driving licence; ideally you will have appropriate driving experience;
• Be prepared to undergo a pre-employment health assessment;
• Possess the ability to interact effectively with children and ensure their safety; ideally having experience of working with young people.

Volunteer Committee Members
The Seckford Foundation

The Seckford Foundation is one of Suffolk’s oldest charities, endowed by Thomas Seckford in 1587,  with the mission to promote the education of the young and the care of the elderly in and around Woodbridge.  The Foundation owns and operates two significant and long standing institutions in the town, Seckford Care and Woodbridge School.

The Foundation has circa 330 employees, over 800 beneficiaries and an annual turnover of £13 million.

The Foundation is controlled by a Board of Trustees, who delegate responsibility for the day-to-day activities to a series of committees comprising Trustees, specialist co-opted members and executives.

We are currently looking for individuals with experience in health and safety, older persons care or CQC inspections to take up positions on either the Seckford Care Committee or the Compliance and Risk Committee.

We are also seeking a chartered accountant currently involved with audit at senior level to join our Finance, Audit and Resources Committee.
