The U14A team played its first competitive game against St Joseph’s U14/I5 team recently. At half time the score was 0-0:Amelia Potter had played outstandingly in right defence, with Maud Peel excellent too.  Further up the pitch Amy Graham had some super linking runs down the right side and Sarah Barker distributed the ball well in mid field. The second half saw St Joseph’s older club players take advantage in the circle with three goals scored. However both goalkeepers Martha Carey and Natasha Doole played well. Playing their maiden game for the school, Millie Buckingham, Maddy Walmsley-Stevenson, Kiya Smith and Nancy Keitley-Webb all played well. Looks like a very good season ahead!

The Junior 3’s had their first fixture this season against Langley away. The first half saw total dominance from Woodbridge with a flurry of goals; the whole squad of ten players played very well.

Meanwhile Verity Hobday reports from the Junior 2s: Woodbridge was strong and worked well as a team. Thanks to the techniques and training given by our coaches and to the focus and the commitment from the players.  After Langley scored the first goal of the match it made us more determined to get a goal straight back. Stealing the ball with a skilful tackle we drove up the side of the pitch with no hesitation, and Ella Walker scored: we were equal! Thereafter we managed to break Langley’s defence regularly despite their strong making in the D with a total of three more goals from Ella Walker, one from Jessica Elmer, and one from Verity Hobday.
