The Seckford Foundation offers Awards and means-tested Bursaries (up to 100% on rare occasions) to pupils of exceptional talent and who might not otherwise be able to afford fees. The Admissions Policy and Bursary Policy are available on our website. Bursaries are available for pupils in Years 3, 7, 9 and 12, and are only available for pupils in other years in exceptional circumstances. Overseas applicants can be considered for Awards only (not bursaries) and fee reductions will be granted off the tuition fee element of the boarding fee only.
If you would like to be considered for a bursary please indicate this on the application form where prompted. You will then be sent the bursary application form together with further details about the process.
RICHARD WARD BURSARY FOR STEM EXCELLENCE
This bursary offers provision to fund a limited number of students each academic year who wish to study STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) during their time in Sixth Form. Interest in this bursary is high, and will therefore only be offered to those candidates who show academic excellence across the field, but especially in STEM subjects.
Current Senior School Pupils
Please note that internal applicants (current Senior School pupils) will be recommended by the relevant Head(s) of Department, in consultation with the Deputy Head Academic and Deputy Head Pastoral, so there is no need to complete an application form as these will not be reviewed.
Academic Awards are available to pupils entering the Senior School at 11, 13 and 16. All current pupils are considered for awards at 11, 13 and 16 alongside those applying for entry to the School. Candidates are not able to apply for Academic or All-round Awards. Academic Awards are based on the results of the entrance tests and performance at the Academic Assessment for new pupils, and academic performance to date for current pupils.
For those applying for entry to the School, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the entrance test results, and shortlisted candidates will be invited to an Academic Assessment:
Saturday 28 November for 16+
Saturday 30 January for 11+ and 13+
11+ and 13+
Academic Awards are made as a result of the tests sat at entry to the Senior School as well as performance at the Academic Assessment.
Academic Awards are made as a result of the tests sat at entry to the Sixth Form, performance at the Academic Assessment, and as a condition of predicted GCSE results and the interview process.
