Mrs Pineo leads the House team which has two matrons one day and one evening, a nurse and a domestic team of five. They are responsible for the upkeep of the House but are vital in the role they play feeding back information to the Housemaster.
Mrs Joanna Fisher is the lead day matron and she coordinates the daily routine including maintenance, cleaning, laundry and medical. Mrs Claire Thompson is the school nurse and she coordinates with Joanna about the boarders medical needs. We are very lucky in that the medical centre is located in School House.
The evening matron is Miss Rosie Gardner and she ensures that when the pupils return from school they have a helping hand to settle, help with any laundry issues or just for a chat about the day. Miss Gardner is also an English graduate so she has weekly thirty minute sessions with anyone who needs help, particularly those in examination year groups in understanding the questions on their papers. In the evenings we also have a tutor team of six who help with Prep and again ensure that each pupil is happy and settled. They do weekend duties too, which enables us to offer various trips and activities to the boarders at weekends. The tutor team is made up of teachers from the common room and includes heads of department as well as young teachers new to pastoral roles and our two gap students from Australia. Their support to Prep is crucial to the success of the pupils academic studies as well as being a caring support after a long day.
