Hockey: Under 14 girls win 4-0 against Wymondham

U14 Hockey v Wymondham

Saturday 4th October

Won 4-0

In the driving rain the U14s dominated their game against Wymondham. We started in a really positive fashion, attacking their half constantly, but we just couldn’t find the back of the net until Maddie Hall reached out and managed to get her stick on the end of a strike from the top of the circle about 10 minutes into the game, and we went ahead.  The parents that had come to watch were not put off by the rain and we had some great support form the sideline.

Maddie again found the back of the net from some great positioning, and there were high fives all around the pitch from our players!

Half time, and we aimed to come and meet the ball more effectively as we had become a little lazy, or possibly the girls were feeling the effects of a very busy week… and make sure our passes had enough speed as many of them were being intercepted. Wymondham had some good attacking play but the defence of Chloe Outen and Flora Johnston soon put a stop to any serious threats.  Harriet Spence and Flo Jackson had good games, executing their game plan very well.  Georgia Harrold scored a fantastic goal from the top of the circle and she was well supported by Mollie Biddle and Mia King throughout the game.  Our final goal came from Zara Lye who usually plays left defence but she was asked to play left attack and stepped up to the mark by getting in a great position, proof that people can play in all positions! Well done girls and thanks soggy supporters!
