Head’s Commendations – April 2024

It’s always wonderful to recognise the achievements of our students, and to celebrate by awarding them a Head’s Commendation in recognition, and this week has been an extremely busy time for just that. 

Congratulations to all of our students who have been recognised this week; receiving their award and talking to Miss Norman while enjoying tea, cake and biscuits. 

Year 9’s George – on celebrating a Silver Award in the recent UK Linguistics Olympiad and superb leadership of the card game Club. 

Year 13’s Theo – for giving a superb address as the Minden dinner. 

Year 8’s Xan, Pranav, Seth, Abigail, Isabella, Layla and Lottie –  for having achieved a Gold in the Breakthrough Section of the UK Linguistics Olympiad. 

Year 10’s Alex – for achieving a Merit in Round 2 of the UK Linguistics Olympiad Advanced Competition; placing in the top 40 nationally in a competition designed for Sixth Form students, while he was still only in Year 10. 

Year 10’s Jack, Jasper, Sam and Arlo – for each achieving a Silver Award in the Foundation Section of the UK Linguistics Olympiad 

Year 9’s James – for becoming the U14 Suffolk Golf County Captain. 

Year 11’s Isaac – for his selection for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
