French Conversationalist
Standard hours of work:
Approximately 10 hours per week, 34 weeks per year
£19.76 per hour plus holiday pay (Term time only)

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and talented French speaker based at the Senior School to work with our students from Year 10 up to A level. The French Conversationalist will be a confident communicator, and a strong team player who thrives working with young people.

Working closely with the Head of Modern Foreign Languages and the French Teachers, the French Conversationalist should be committed in helping students to develop their oral fluency and be prepared to support native and non-native students of French in their preparation for the oral part of public examinations for GCSE and A level.

All pupils are offered French, Spanish and Mandarin in Year 7, and in Years 8 and 9 students continue with two out of the three. Uptake at GCSE and A-Level is strong, and a good proportion are dual linguists.

Modern foreign languages are housed in the Redstone Building which has four specialist classrooms; all students use technology and devices within their lessons.

The Modern Languages Department is one of the largest in the school, comprising of four different languages and 11 members of staff. Native language assistants are a key part of the department and see all sixth form linguists once a week, on an individual basis.

The school has various study trips and devotes much time and energy to ensuring that every pupil is encouraged to take part in these valuable trips from Year 9 onwards. For those studying French in Years 10-13, there is an trip to Nice. For those studying Spanish, Years 9 & 12 get the opportunity to spend a week in Salamanca.

Grounds Supervisor
40 Hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: £27,000 per annum

We are looking to appoint a Grounds Supervisor to oversee our Grounds Teams across Woodbridge School and Seckford Care.

You will play a critical supervisory role in delivering operational excellence across the Grounds departments within the Seckford Foundation. The Grounds Supervisor will pro-vide effective supervision of the overall look and feel of the premises to the highest visual standards. You will be responsible for providing a safe, compliant, efficient and cost- effective environment for all stakeholders.

This is a highly visible delivery role, which requires an individual who can effectively man-age their team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to deliver an excellent customer experience.

The Grounds Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring that the outdoor areas of the organisation are well-maintained, attractive, and safe. They should possess excellent leadership and communication skills as well as a thorough knowledge of grounds management, horticulture, and landscaping best practices. The Grounds Supervisor must also ensure that the team has the tools, expertise, and resources necessary to deliver an outstanding service level.

Prep School Caretaker (Residential)
Standard hours of work
40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Standard working pattern
07:00 – 19:30 (split shift – 8 hours per day)
Salary: £23,795 per annum (including accommodation)

We are looking for a personable and organised individual to join our Caretaking Team to undertake all caretaking and maintenance works as directed, ensuring a high standard of upkeep and safety at Woodbridge Prep School.

For this role you will report to the Estates Maintenance Supervisor. You will also have daily interactions with the staff and senior management at the Prep, therefore, you need to be a strong team player who will take pride in the upkeep of the beautiful buildings and grounds of the Prep School.

You will need to be able to communicate well with a variety of school staff and will need to be able to manage your workload with a degree of flexibility. Previous experience in a similar role and environment would be advantageous, as would good practical skills to enable you to assist with general building maintenance.

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude, with a willingness to pitch in on a variety of tasks.

Volunteer Committee Members
The Seckford Foundation

The Seckford Foundation is one of Suffolk’s oldest charities, endowed by Thomas Seckford in 1587,  with the mission to promote the education of the young and the care of the elderly in and around Woodbridge.  The Foundation owns and operates two significant and long standing institutions in the town, Seckford Care and Woodbridge School.

The Foundation has circa 330 employees, over 800 beneficiaries and an annual turnover of £13 million.

The Foundation is controlled by a Board of Trustees, who delegate responsibility for the day-to-day activities to a series of committees comprising Trustees, specialist co-opted members and executives.

We are currently looking for an individual with EYFS experience to take up a position on the Education Committee.
