A wonderful weekend, not least one filled with tremendous success for our pupils; all those who entered won their age group/category. Results in so far: James P had a busy weekend at the festival performing a poem, a solo drama piece and an unseen prose reading. In his age group James took first place in both Speech Repertoire, for his performance of The Cow by Roald Dahl and A Game of Chicken by Heather Stephens, and in the Sight Reading class with a piece by Michael Morpurgo. James was also awarded the Randall Bevan Cup for the ‘most outstanding performance’ in Senior Repertoire ahead of those in two older age groups.
Guy S won his category for his performance from the Jungle Book, while Jasper B and Theo B won under 15s duologue. Year 8 pupils Miranda W-B, Jonny K, Chris L and Jenny C also enjoyed a win for their performance, a scripted version of Ashputtel by the Grimms brothers in the category Group Drama Scene. Well done to all!
