Reception – Farm Visit
30 Jun 17
A huge thank you to Mrs Houston who welcomed 26 Reception children to her farm. They had a fantastic day finding out about where their food comes from. The highlight of the day was seeing the new born twin calves and watching Mrs Ihenacho feed one with a bottle. The children loved meeting the cows, scampering around the farm, measuring themselves against tractor tyres, counting the wheels on a drill, sorting different foods into animal and plant groups, playing games and making scarecrows. They talk non-stop about their trip and it has generated lots of lovely writing. What a fantastic opportunity to visit a working farm – the children will remember this hands on experience for years to come – thank you Mrs Houston.
