Woodbridge U13A and U14 Netball News

7 Nov 25

Two of our Netball teams were in action this week, both performing incredibly well and bring home wins for Woodbridge.

U13A Team go Through to Third Round of Netball Cup

Our U13A Netball team took part in the second round of the U13 School Sport Magazine Cup, playing against Ipswich School on Monday; our team was made up of Year 8’s Martha, Grace, Matilda, Juno, Chloe, Ava, Najma, Daisy and Isabelle, along with Year 7’s Isabelle.

It was a competitive match with both sides displaying some impressive Netball for their age, and Woodbridge were the eventual victors 24-12, meaning they went through to the third round, where we will host Redden Court School.

Matilda was our Player of the Match on this occasion but it was a very strong team effort overall.

Well done to all of our players!

U14A Team Compete in Schools Netball League Tournament

Our U14A team hosted the Schools Netball League Tournament in School earlier this week too, with our team comprising

Year 9’s India J, India B, Mariella, Alexandra, Imogen, Ella, and Sienna, with Year 8’s Matilda, Martha, and Grace.

This group of players have shown huge improvements since the last tournament and are really starting to gel as a team.  Woodbridge played the initial part of the tournament with a bare seven players due to three of the regular squad taking part in the U13 match at Ipswich School (above), and did incredibly well.  Well done to Ella for coming in late to the side and playing some very strong defensive netball out of position.

It was close, but Woodbridge edged the overall win for the tournament by one goal, well done to everyone!
