Music Scholars Enjoy Enrichment Workshop with Local Jazz Musicians

Earlier this week, our Music Scholars enjoyed an inspiring Enrichment Workshop with Mr Woodley, Director of Music. Joined by five exceptional professional musicians from the world of jazz, students enjoyed a lunch time live performance, followed by a practical workshop gaining a deeper understanding of the rich traditions and techniques that underpin jazz music.

Throughout the afternoon, students joined the professional musicians and learnt about the key features of jazz improvisation, harmony, structure and rhythm. They also gained valuable insight into how professional musicians work together.

It was a wonderful opportunity to put new skills into practice, build confidence as performers and experience the thrill of making music alongside professionals.

An engaging and memorable day, the workshop offered invaluable musical insight, inspired creativity and demonstrated the power of live performance to educate, challenge and motivate young musicians.
