Hockey: Woodbridge Girls 1st Team v Felsted
Score: Lost 0-4
The Woodbridge first team came up against a skilful and physical Felsted team forcing the girls to show their fighting spirit. The match forced the defenders to bring out their best, Ella Burdett earning the praise of all her team mates. The midfielders worked tirelessly; Lily Felton and Imogen Craig never stopping in an attempt to counter Felsted’s attacks. Woodbridge showed signs of the hockey that they could play but unfortunately gave away too much possession cheaply, constantly putting themselves on the back foot.
Despite the score line there are many positives from the game… The team’s communication was at its best. The penalty corner defence deserves praise. Players’ work rate was the best its been. A very tough match meant that every player had to play their part – and no one hid from the responsibility. The team showed great character, players bouncing back from knocks and injuries during the match.
Thanks to all the supporters who watched the game. Congratulations to player of the match, Lily Felton, who also captained the team very well today.
