This delightful musical play performed by Years 1 and 2 on the Abbey stage was enjoyed by all who came to see it – and all who were in it! The smiles on the children’s faces showed that they were clearly having a great time on the stage and were justly proud of their production.
The messages about global warming came across loud and clear and the audience were made aware of how we must look after our planet for the next generations of children … and animals.
Congratulations to all the cast and thank you to all the staff involved in making props, helping with costumes and keeping everything calm backstage!

Connie’s Grandad visited Queen’s House to talk to the Reception children about being a Fireman. The children were very interested to learn all about the dangers of fire, what to do if there is a fire and most importantly how they can take precautions against fires starting in the first place. After dressing up their teacher in a Fireman’s outfit the children were keen to try on Connie’s Grandads helmet.
The Reception children celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite Book character. Captain Hook’s pirates had told the children that they had lost their treasure. The children then took part in a treasure hunt in the Queen’s House garden and thankfully all the coins were found!
Mr Brett presented certificates today to the children in Queen’s House. Effort certificates were awarded to Alex, Tom, William, Dominic and Arabella. Table Manners certificates were awarded to Rosie, Lewis, Willow and Amalie. Molly received the Karate certificate. Well done to you all!
As part of Year 2’s topic ‘Healthy Me’ they had a fun filled and cross curricular day of science, cooking, PSHE and English. They started the day learning all about the 5 food groups of the ‘Eatwell Plate’ and the importance of a balanced diet so they grow, keep healthy and are full of energy. Following that, the children prepared a balanced meal of: vegetable couscous, chicken and salad wraps, cheese and cucumber sandwiches and fruit kebabs. A banqueting table was set up in the classroom and the children ate their delicious lunch with gusto, everybody trying everything and lots of them asking for more. The afternoon was spent writing up the recipes for each dish, remembering what they had learnt about instruction writing during the week. An action packed day to remember, full of fun and learning!
The Reception children have been “Superheroes” for the week. Their superhuman powers have helped them with their work including reading, writing and number. As well as this they have found the time to combat numerous crimes and save the planet from various villains!
We are proud to announce that Annabelle and Olive were Highly Commended in the Young Art East Anglia Competition. This is a fantastic achievement as more than 1800 paintings were entered from schools across Suffolk.

The children in Reception have been celebrating Chinese New Year. They have made fans, dragons and lanterns, experimented at Chinese writing and learnt the names of the animals in the Chinese zodiac. Last week they had a visit from Hong who was able to tell the children more about how this festival is celebrated in China.
