April and May have been filled with various activities and events for boarders, but of course the majority of our focus has been on those students preparing for upcoming examinations; our Year 9, 10 and 12 students being offered plenty of weekend activities in order to leave the boarding house quiet so that our Year 11 and 13 students can revise, although they’ve been given the option to participate as part of their down time from revision where needed!
Ten pin bowling and cinema trips have been popular for all boarders, and at the beginning of term we had a great BBQ followed with toasting marshmallows and making smores with Year 13 students while we all reminisced about their time here with us.

Over the bank holiday weekend we saw the return of our bouncy castle assault course to everyone’s delight – providing much hilarity and as ever a great way to relieve stress and pressure! We also had the chance to visit Cambridge for the day where we all enjoyed a tour or Miss Tattoo’s (Head of Religious Studies at Woodbridge) college Homerton followed by an afternoon of shopping, sightseeing and relaxation. The weekend finished with the induction of our new Head of House, Year 12’s Matteo, who starts his tenure after half-term break, and who will be assisted by two Deputy Heads of House, Year 12’s Alex and Nicholas.

So, it’s on to exams and through to the end of the School year for all borders alongside their fellow students; we look forward to reporting again soon so look out for our next roundup.
But before our roundup ends, we’re privileged to be able to share the news that we had a new bench installed outside School House last week, in memory of former boarder Kene. Her life will always be remembered by those who met her, and our bench marks what a special person she was. An official unveiling of the bench will be organised and reported on in the near future.
