A Christmas Carol: review

19 Nov 21

For those that had the opportunity to watch this year’s Sixth Form drama performance of A Christmas Carol, it certainly was a magical treat and feast for the senses!

Upon arrival theatre-goers were treated to clementines and ginger bread, and so the Christmas atmosphere was set before people even sat on their seats.  With truly outstanding characters, costumes and with extremely clever staging, the audience were engrossed from start to finish.

Following Scrooge through his past, present and future looking particularly at the impact of his behaviour upon others was extremely emotive to watch and consider, as you would expect from this tale. This combined with the excitement and frivolity of the Christmas dinner fight during the last moments of the performance, meant the audience were treated to a rollercoaster of emotions along the way.

If the audience weren’t feeling Christmassy before they arrived, this show certainly brought that out in everyone – a wonderful experience for all who had the chance to see the sold-out show. Huge congratulations to all who took part, on stage and behind the scenes.
