Following the parent survey carried out during the Michaelmas term 2014, a review of the supply of the uniform has been undertaken. The results of the survey showed that respondents wanted a more flexible approach to purchasing school uniform and in particular the ability to buy online. The Board of Woodbridge School Enterprises Ltd (WSEL) has therefore acted on this feedback and, following a tender process, decided to outsource the provision of school uniform and sports kit to Coes of Ipswich.
Coes have many years’ experience of supplying school uniform. From 1 July 2015 you will be able to purchase uniform at Coes shop in Ipswich or order items online which can either be collected from the School on Fridays or posted to your home (nearer the time, details of how to order online will be circulated). At various points during the year Coes will be on site so the uniform can be tried on for sizing purposes. In particular, they will be at all induction events for new pupils.
One of the key concerns identified in the parent survey was cost. We have ensured that a “basket of uniform” at the key entry points is the same or lower price when compared to the current prices. We will be working with Coes over the coming months to reduce further the cost of the uniform.
The closure of the School Shop (on Friday 19 June 2015) will, for some, be a loss, however we hope the increased purchasing options now being offered will give our busy parents more flexibility to purchase. Importantly, the Second Hand Shop will continue to operate from the School site and will be staffed by a parent volunteer.
