The art work produced this week is being displayed at Queen’s House and parents will be able to view it during Walk About on Tuesday 24th March.

As part of our Book and Arts Week, Mrs Copestake taught the children how to make bread today.  Keeping with the animal theme the children made their bread in to a tortoise shape!

The children’s artwork this week has been inspired by the books they have been studying. The Reception children have focussed on the author Eric Carle, Year 1 on Julia Donaldson and Year 2 on Roald Dahl. The workshops have been led by Heather Hodgson, a local artist. The children have drawn, painted, collaged and created large scale pictures to illustrate these books. Thank you to all the parents who came in to help with these sessions.

On Sunday 15th March, our riders competed in a National Schools Show Jumping competition in Bury St. Edmunds. Fleur Ludgrove had a fantastic day winning both the 50cm and the 60cm classes. Rohan Brooks produced another great result for Woodbridge School as she won the 1m class and was 4th in the 90cm. The team of Fleur, Ada Marson and Olivia Brown came 3rd in the 50cm team competition and 5th in the 60cm. Ada, Fleur and Lara Bell gained a 3rd placing in the 70cm class.

On Sunday 22nd March we are hosting our annual One Day Event at Poplar Park, Hollesley. Good luck to our riders!!

The children at Queen’s House took part in dance workshops today, led by Caroline Mummery from Dance East. Each year group focussed on a different book – Reception created movements to The Hungry Caterpillar, Year 1 worked on The Monkey Puzzle and Year 2 took images from The Enormous Crocodile. It was wonderful to see the children express themselves freely through music and dance.
