A Co-educational Independent School in Suffolk for ages 4 to 18

143Queen’s House Extra-Curricular Activities

At Woodbridge School we are keen encourage children to develop new interests from a very young age, because extra- curricular activity plays such an important role in building confidence and happiness in children. These interests will continue to grow and will be nurtured throughout the School. At Queen’s House, sport, music (Click here to download application form for music lessons), drama, art and life outdoors are all part of daily life, but children have the opportunity to pursue these interests and many more through a wide range of after school clubs.

The clubs we do every term are:

All years: Karate after School on Wednesdays (coach from outside school)

All years: Ballet on Friday lunchtimes

Year 1 & Year 2: Tennis on Monday and Tuesday lunchtimes (coach from Woodbridge Tennis Club)

Year 1 & Year 2: Football after school on Tuesdays (coach is a parent who also coaches a local team)

Year 2: Chess on Wednesday lunchtimes (Adam Hunt – International Grand Master & Woodbridge School teacher)

Year 2: Golf on Thursdays after school (coach from Woodbridge Golf Club)

Year 2: Lunchtime Sport on Fridays (taken by sports staff from The Abbey)   For all Strings Pupils: Strings Group on Thursday lunchtimes. This is not a club per se but is attended by all pupils who have strings lessons.

There are other activities for Year 2 which change every term, some of which form the rehearsals of that term’s concert. Here are some examples:

  • Walk, Talk & Sketch Club
  • Lego Club
  • ICT Club
  • Art Club
  • Music Club
